Services
  • Preparing and submitting Offers in Compromise to IRS and negotiating the terms thereof;

  • Working out and submitting to IRS installment agreements which are structured such that clients are not left with funds that will deny them a decent life style;

  • Requiring IRS to issue certificates of release of lien regarding taxes that are no longer collectible due to the fact that the lawful period for collection has expired;

  • Obtaining the agreement of IRS not to levy upon wages, bank accounts and other "liquid" assets or to release levies already made upon such assets, when such levies would work an undue hardship upon the client.

  • In those cases wherein taxes can be eliminated ("discharged") by doing so, referring the client to a bankruptcy attorney at his or her request in order to obtain bankruptcy protection and working with that attorney, if requested to do so, in order to ensure that such discharge of taxes occurs.

  • Filing refund claims with IRS in cases in which taxes have been collected after the legal period for collection has expired.

  • Restructuring the businesses of self-employed clients such that some of the employment taxes that have been assessed can be completely avoided.

  • Taking matters in dispute with IRS (such as liability for "trust fund" taxes, the appropriateness of penalties assessed, compensation for levies illegally made or property otherwise seized, and other liability questions) to the United States Tax Court, the United States Court of Claims or a Federal District Court, as may be appropriate.

  • Deferring - in some cases for as long as two years or more - the necessity to pay over to IRS any of the overdue taxes, by utilizing and taking advantage of various administrative and judicial appeals permitted by law and authorized by Congress.
